Located in the parkland of historic Wadhurst Castle, near Royal Tunbridge Wells and within easy reach of the seaside holiday resorts of Brighton, the fishing village of Rye and Hastings, it is well positioned for visiting a wealth of National Trust properties, including Hever Castle (Anne Boleyn’s childhood home), Rudyard Kipling’s Bateman’s, and Winston Churchill’s Chartwell, to name but a few.

“Lovely cottage for larger families! We checked as a family of 6, with children aged between 9 and 18. The pictures don’t do the property justice – the ground floor ceilings are very high which adds luxury to the space. The local area is very nice, it’s easy to see why Wadhurst was voted best place to live in the UK this year. There were personal touches throughout the cottage. “With five adults and a border collie we had wonderful days at the Castle Cottage. As previously mentioned in one of the reviews: the kitchen is equipped with absolutely everything and the spaces clean. The bedrooms are spacious and the living room (even more spacious than the pictures makes look!) a lovely place to relax, dine, play games and read a lovely books. We go to England every year after Christmas to ‘escape’ the fireworks. That worked out very well this year: the peace and surroundings are fantastic. We ate and drank delicious in the Pub The White Hart and even had a very good takeaway from the Indian around the corner. We look back on a lovely break.” December 2023
